Special Day Program (SDP)-Intellectual Disabilities

Special Day Program (SDP) - Intellectual Disabilities - Traditional School

The Alternate Curriculum

The alternate curriculum is designed for students with moderate to severe disabilities who are not able to access the core general education curriculum without significant modifications.

At Holmes Middle School, our two alternate curriculum programs collaborate to bring meaningful instruction and academic and social experiences to students enrolled in our programs. Students will attend their English and Social Studies alternate curriculum special education classes in the program for students with intellectual disabilities, and their Math and Science alternate curriculum special education classes in the program for students with autism. This allows the students instruction, transition opportunities, and school experiences like their typical peers.
