Description

This course incorporates Common Core State Standards for reading, writing, listening and speaking in English.  Students will develop skills in reading comprehension and literary analysis through the study of non-fiction, short stories, poetry, and drama.  Students will develop research skills and write persuasive, expository, and analytical compositions.  Additionally, students will complete various creative, literature-  and research-based projects.  Students will participate in the Accelerated Reader technology-supported, independent reading program.    This course will also focus on building vocabulary and refining language skills.

Este curso incorporara Normas Básicas Generales Estatales en lectura, escritura, audición y habla en inglés. El estudiante desarrollará su capacidad en comprensión de lectura y análisis literario por medio del estudio de textos realistas, historias cortas, poesía y teatro. El estudiante desarrollará su capacidad de investigación y creará ensayos persuasivos, explicativos y analíticos. Además, el estudiante completará varios proyectos de investigación, creatividad y literatura. El estudiante participará en el programa de lectura independiente con apoyo tecnológico Accelerated Reader. Este curso también se enfocará en el aumento del vocabulario y refinamiento de la capacidad lingüística.
