North Valley Family YMCA hosts a free Teen Night every first Friday of the month for kids 11-17 years old. This is a safe place where teens can hang out and participate in something positive. The event is 100% free. All middle school and high school students are invited. They do not need to be members of the YMCA to participate. They provide DJ &Music, Arts & Crafts, Free Food, Video Games, and so much more. Click on the link above to see the attached flyer. The next Teen Night event is scheduled for Friday, October 4, 2019 from 6:30 -9:00 PM at the North Valley Family YMCA.
Our Ace Awards Night will be on Thursday, September 12, 2019 at MacKenzie Hall. Please note, two presentations have been scheduled: 7th graders will receive their awards from 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM; 8th graders will receive their awards from 6:00 pm - 7:00 PM. As a courtesy to all recipients, please attend promptly at the scheduled time. We look forward to seeing you and your child at Holmes Middle School's ACE Awards night!
Holmes Middle School will have Student Focus Group meetings on the second Tuesday of every month at 7:56 AM - 8:25 AM starting in September and continuing through June. Sample questions discussed during the meetings can be accessed through the link above.

Attention Holmes parents and guardians: If you are interested in being a part of this school year's School-Based Management (SBM) Council, print and fill out the nomination form link above. Return this form to the Magnet office by Thursday morning, September 5, 2019. Elections for parent/guardian representatives will be held during Back-to-School Night, September 5th at 5:00 PM during the parent meeting in MacKenzie Hall.
This meeting for parents of English Learners will take place this Thursday, August 29 at 8:30 AM in the Parent Center. We will be discussing information about the identification and assessment process for your child as an English Learner and the instructional program options available to them.
Spirit Week Rules:
- You must in uniform/dress code each day you do not participate.
- You may only dress up for that day's event. Follow non-uniform dress code.
- Please clear any questions beforehand with an administrator or Ms. Sterrett in room 206. If you think it is inappropriate, it probably is!
- Spirit days promote school culture and should not interfere with academic success.
MONDAY, AUG 26: Twin Day (Dress like a friend (or group of friends). Same shirt, same (dress code) pants, same shoes, same hair...
TUESDAY, AUG 27: Superhero Day (Let your hero flag fly high. Wear a shirt or accessories (glasses, shoes, socks, pins) from your favorite superhero.
WEDNESDAY, AUG 28: Disney Day (Show your Disney spirit by wearing your favorite character's gear. Wear a shirt or accessories (glasses, shoes, socks, pins).
THURSDAY, AUG 29: Sports Day (Put on your sports gear from your favorite team: glasses, shoes, hats, shirts, or jerseys.
