Welcome Back to School Letter: Thursday, August 14

Dear Holmes Families,

As we prepare to open our gates for the first day of school, I am filled with excitement and gratitude for the journey ahead. Holmes Middle School and Humanities Magnet is a place where curiosity is ignited, talents are nurtured, and every student’s potential is honored. Our classrooms, studios, and labs will soon be alive with the energy of young scholars asking big questions, creating bold solutions, and forging lasting friendships. This is more than the start of a school year—it is the beginning of a shared adventure, where together we will cultivate not only academic excellence, but empathy, resilience, and a deep sense of belonging for every child.

Final Note
This year, I encourage every student to take a courageous first step—whether it’s joining a club, trying a new elective, or introducing themselves to someone new. Growth begins where comfort ends, and every day will bring a chance to discover just how much we are capable of together. See you Thursday and remember, There is no place like Holmes!

With gratitude and anticipation,
Susie Parker
